York Township Candidate, Sink, has two words for the incumbent York
Township Board:
YOU'RE FIRED!
March 30, 2005, York Township, Illinois: Larry Sink believes the incumbent
York township Board should be fired. Sink, a candidate for York Township
Supervisor, is well qualified for office with a distinguished business career
as an executive for 38 years. His background includes pioneering the marketing
of Apple Computer and launching cutting-edge educational software with Scott
Foresman Electronic Publishing. Larry is speaking out because he is
greatly disappointed in the poor attendance record of the current York Township
Board members at regular meetings.
Sink and his staff conducted an independent count to determine actual attendance
records of the current township board. "During the last four years,
board members have been absent an incredible 75 times," said Sink.
"As York Township Supervisor, I will make this type of absenteeism a thing
of the past." Sink vows to create a dynamic, dedicated and active Township
government, accountable to its citizens and committed to serving their needs.
Sink's investigation into the matter of York Township board attendance was
prompted after he witnessed the frustration of members of the general public
who attended a February Township board meeting, only to have it cancelled.
Sink and other candidates were among those in attendance when it was announced
that the February 8th meeting could not take place because there were not
enough board members present to carry a vote. "We had more of our candidates
in the audience than the board did on stage," Sink
added.
"I want to bring a sense of responsibility and respectability back to the
new York Township Board," said Sink. "If York Township is to operate
efficiently, Board members need to be present, especially at meetings held
to conduct important business for the Township."
"If you or I were not showing up regularly for work during our career, the
boss would fire us," Sink further stated. "I think the incumbent York
Township Board should be fired by the intelligent voting public, just like
Donald Trump does when non-performance is evident and says: 'you're
fired.' " Sink said taxpayer waste will not be tolerated in his administration.
