Bloomingdale Democrats: Fred Chavez Should Remain on County Board Ballot
The Bloomingdale Township Democratic Organization (BTDO) at their meeting held on June 13, 2006 voted unanimously to support the candidacy of Fred Chavez for the office of County Board member 6th district. The BTDO included in the motion a statement that Fred Chavez should be allowed to stay on the ballot despite the challenge of the Republicans.
“Fred Chavez is a very qualified candidate that deserves our support for County Board in the 6th District,” said BTDO Chairman Pete Null after the motion was passed. “The voters should be able to decide on whether or not the he is elected.”
A recent challenge by the Republicans is seeking to remove him from the ballot.
“The Bloomingdale Township Democrats are committed to supporting the two party system and getting some checks and balances in place in DuPage County,” Pete Null added. “One political party should not be making all the decisions regarding our government and who should be on the ballot to run it.”
