Goldstein to speak about future of Democratic Party
and the role of young people in the political process
Wheaton – On July 21 at 7:30 PM 21 year old author and
activist Scott Goldstein will be speaking to DuPage Democracy for
Illinois at IHop in Wheaton (167 Danada Square East). Scott will
be
discussing his book, "The Tea is in the Harbor: How the Democrats Can
Restore Democracy in America." Scott is a senior at American University
in Washington D.C. focusing on U.S. Foreign Policy. After working
on
the Howard Dean presidential campaign and interning at Democracy for
America (D.F.A.) co-coordinating Governor Dean’s endorsement process,
Goldstein was hired by D.F.A. as a consultant and created Generation
DFA, the youth movement active around the country that works to elect
progressive candidates, bridge the gap between community service and
political involvement among, and encourage and support young people
running for office. Currently, Scott is advocating that the
Democratic
Party give young people a greater role in their movement to take back
America.
Goldstein will be speaking to DuPage Democracy for Illinois about
the future of the Democratic Party, the role of young people in the
political process, and a progressive vision for a government that works
for the American people.
Goldstein will be available for questions after the discussion and
book signing.
