| Dear Neighbor, I am running to be one of the four Winfield Township Trustees, and the only Democrat running for the position. You are probably asking, what is Township Government? The township's main function is to offer services to senior citizens, youth, and the disadvantaged community; it provides the assistance to people that other units of government do not offer. It also oversees the maintenance of roads and construction in unincorporated aress of Winfield Township. In times like these with jobs being outsourced to foreign countries and job security being what it is, it is important to many people that they know there is help and what these services are that may help them over the rough spots. As we grow it is important that the government be responsive to the citizens and their needs, at the same time being fiscally responsive to you the tax payer. If elected, as a Democrat I will bring an alternate voice to the boafrd and work to bring development to the Township that maintains the environment and integrity of the area and most importantly the needs and wants of the people. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. If you believe it is important to have an alternate voice in politics I ask for your vote on April 5th. |
I grew up in northwest Indiana. My father is a World War II veteran and a second generation steelworker. My mother was handicapped but still managed to raise me and three brothers.
I worked for several yeasr in the steel mills, before moving to Buffalo, New York where I and some friends started a successful business. I returned to Indiana in the late 70s where, while working for the oil industry, I put my wife and myself through college while helping to raise my son. After getting my associates degree from Purdue University, I started working for Lucent Technologies and moved the family to Batavia in the late 80s. Since then I moved to Warrenville where I have lived the last 4 years.
Growing up in northwest Indiana I saw first hand what unrestricted development with no concern for the environment can do to an area. I would be a strong advocate for environmentally sound development in Winfield Township.
