11 Time Award Winning Community Organizer Rita Gonzalez
I founded, and served voluntarily as
the Executive Director of the first
Hispanic, Not-for-profit Organization in DuPage County. We provided countless programs,
activities, and events for the local
Communities. (500 youths were
registered with us)
We
spearheaded and won the Largest Civil Class Action Law suit in the History of the U.S. for housing
Discrimination against Hispanics.
Under my
leadership, our extremely grass-roots efforts were recognized Locally and Nationally, as we were recipients
of the following awards:
We were the first and only organization
ever named on the Addison Police Brochure as a gang prevention recourse.
We served as a liaison between the community
and the White House during the Clinton
administration.
Throughout the entire younger years of my
life, I volunteered, then worked for the Jo Davis County Workshop for
the “Mentally and Physically challenged” in Galena Il. (One of
the most rewarding times of my
life.)
I offer a lifetime of experience, and
dedication to serving others and implementing change.
