progressive grassroots group is hosting a forum to explore these
issues. " Compassion, Diversity, and Social Justice: Religious and
Secular Balance in the US" features a panel of progressive
speakers including current and former Illinois Congressional candidates
and members of the religious community. It is

(Sunday) 9:15 am Labor historian professor William Adelman is going to
be leading a forum on May Day, May 1, 9:15 am at the DuPage Unitarian
Universalist Church in Naperville, on old Naperville Road just north of
Diehl Road. Old Naperville Road is just east of Naperville
Road.
Diehl is just south of the I - 88 East West Tollway. He will be talking
about the significance of the Haymarket Affair where labor protestors
clashed
with police in Chicago's Haymarket Square, during the struggle for the

hour day. The rest of the world celebrates labor day on May 1, in
memory
of that incident and struggle. I think local labor supporters
might
be interested as this is happening out here in DuPage in our own
backyards.

his Proposed Legislation on Immigration Saturday November 12 in
Bensenville, Salvador Cerna, of Congressman Gutierrez staff,
World Relief Director Javier Rabadan, Professor Lindy Scott, activist
Rita Gonzalez and a representative of La Familia Latina Unida to speak
at workshop on citizenship, immigration and Immigration reform bill on
Saturday, November 12, 5 to 7 pm at Bensenville Bible Church. The
Office of Congressman Luis Gutiérrez, the Hispanic Evangelical
Free Church in Chicagoland, and World Relief invite you to a workshop
on citizenship and immigration. World Relief’s Immigration Director,
Javier Rabadan, will explain the steps that are necessary to obtain
citizenship. The legislation on immigration proposed by Luis
Gutiérrez (HR 2330) will be explained by a member of his
staff, Salvador Cerna. Later Professor Lindy Scott and Hispanic
activist Rita González will also comment on the proposed
legislation. The event will take place in Spanish on Saturday, November
12, from 5-7pm at the Bensenville Bible Church, 280 S. York Road,
