RAIL ADVOCATE RESCHEDULED FOR MARCH 8TH CLUB MEETING

Cool Cities Program and Global Warming Discussed At February Meeting

Due to a scheduling conflict in February, Kevin Brubaker from the Environmental Law and Policy Center (ELPC) will appear at this month’s meeting on Thursday, Match 8th.

Mr. Brubaker is the ELPC’s resident expert on mass transit and high speed rail and is the Project Manager for the Midwest High Speed Rail Network.

As usual, our meeting will start at 7:30 PM with a time for socializing and refreshment and will be held at the Lombard Commons, 433 E. St. Charles Road, Lombard. Presentations by our guest will start promptly at 8 PM.

In some related news, Governor Jim Doyle of Wisconsin announced his intent to provide $80 million in state funds toward completion of the Chicago-Milwaukee-Madison passenger rail corridor as part of his comprehensive "Growing Milwaukee for Wisconsin's Future" initiative. He has also pledged to continue working to secure federal funds to complete this project.
