As a County Board member Dan Bailey would work hard to ensure that all         residents are heard and represented on the issues important to them. He would work with citizens to form community councils to give direct feedback and ideas to improve government services.

Dan Bailey believes that the DuPage County Board should be working on these important issues of primary concern to the residents of the county:

• Reduce Traffic Congestion, halt Urban Sprawl and improve rail and bus travel
• Essential services important for seniors and the sick should be protected before pay raises are provided for County Board members.
• Housing policies should ensure our seniors and service providers like police, teachers and retail staff can still live in our DuPage communities.
• Home rule should not be passed to allow for tax increases without voter approvals

“Our county government needs fiscal responsibility, not a Home Rule blank check to raise taxes without voter approval.” Dan Bailey asks” How can the DuPage County Board give themselves raises when everyone else is either getting a pay cut or losing their jobs?”

Dan Bailey is a frequent user of the trails in DuPage County. He has worked as a volunteer to improve and protect them. “We need to guide trail maintenance policies more by what would enhance their natural beauty, usefulness and native vegetation and less by mowing ease and what pleases Com Ed. Citizens groups and neighbors should have a say.”

Dan Bailey also believes that all residents and travelers including students, seniors, shoppers, bicycle riders and joggers should be included in all plans for roadway improvements and expansions. “How can we just expand the roads in DuPage County into highways without allowing for everyone to safely travel on, alongside and across them? All planning should encourage (and eventually rely on) a mix of walking, biking, bus, transit and autos and urban planning that puts the places we want to go close so our trips are fewer, shorter, easier, cheaper and more enjoyable.”

Dan Bailey and his family are residents of Wheaton, IL. He works as a railroad engineer. As a DuPage County Board Member serving District 4 he will work to ensure that all County Board decisions include families and the working people who need to watch every expense.
